AddFone - How to serch & Advanced Search
AddFone stores four pieces of data about each site:
When you search for an application using AddFone, results are presented in order of relevance, from most likely to less likely.
AddFone provides powerful ways of searching. Here are some examples:
This kind of search will find sites that contain at least one of the words, apple or iphone on any of its four fields (title, URL, description or tags).
This will find sites that contain both words.
This will find sites that contain the word apple, but rank results higher if they also contain iphone.
This will find sites that contain the word apple but not iphone.
This will find sites that contain words like apple, apples, applesauce, or applet.
This will find sites that contain both words used together, exactly as typed.
This will find sites that contain both the words apple and cool and will also find sites the contain both the words apple and sales. Then, it will rank results. Pages containing both words apple and cool will rank higher than those containing apple and sales.
NOTE: Parentheses are used to group words into subexpressions. Parenthesized groups can be nested.
This will find sites that contain the word apple and will rank lower any page containing the word iphone.
Multiple comands can be issued. This will find sites that contain the word games, don't contain the word nhl and contain the word chess.
To improve AddFone's performance, all words with less than 4 characters are always excluded during a regular search. Even so, you can search for these words. The only condition is that you cannot include any of the special characters, mentioned previously, in your search. In other words: you cannot include the following characters while searching for a word with less than 4 characters: + - * ( ) " ~ < and >.
If you do, AddFone will think you want to perform an advanced search and you will obtain no results.
